What is the process of building a Home?
- Purchase Agreement
- Meet with a Fieldstone Real Estate Specialist for a pre-purchase consultation.
- Obtain pre-qualification from one of our preferred lenders.
- Pick a lot and home package your Fieldstone Real Estate Specialist.
- Sign a Purchase Agreement.
- Review plans and specifications and make interior and appliance selections
- Start your Loan
- Appraisal and title ordered
- Obtain underwriting approval for end loan
- Obtain Construction Loan approval

Do you take offers contingent upon my house needing to sell and do I need to sell my home first?
We do accept contingent purchase agreements, but we will not be able to finalize the design of your new Home until the contingency is removed. Selling of your home is dependent on your financial ability. We encourage you to contact one of our preferred lenders to discuss.
How does financing work and what are the loan options?
Cash or a construction loans are most common when building a new Home with Fieldstone Family Homes. Please consult with one of our lending partners for information on financing.
Can you sell my existing home?
Fieldstone Real Estate Specialists are experienced at existing home sales and would love to assist you in the sale of your current Home.
Construction
What does custom mean to FFH?
Custom home means building the home for your life and lifestyle. The custom home build is one where you work directly with the New Construction Specialists, drafts person, designer and builder to work out every detail of the home including the plans, selections, layout, finishes and details of home, that make it yours.
What is the timeline to build?
Most homes can be complete within 90-120 days from dig, dependent on weather, client selected finishes and customized options included in each Home.
Will I have a designated job supervisor?
Yes, you will have access to an assigned Construction Manager who is backed by our knowledgeable office staff to help you through the construction and warranty process. Meet our team here.
Am I able to visit the jobsite while under construction?
Yes! Its your Home, your way! You are welcome to visit your jobsite, please call your onsite job supervisor to schedule so we can meet you onsite. We ask that all visitors adhere to our guidelines for social distancing and proper attire while visiting the jobsite. You can also track your home’s progress virtually using BuilderTrend. You will receive a personalized login shortly before your home starts construction.
What is BuilderTrend?
Clients who are building a part of our customizable series will receive an invite to join BuilderTrend, a 3rd party website/app where they will have the ability to track the project, see documents related to the Home, pictures of the project while under construction, change orders, warranty claims, and any other critical information regarding the project. Clients can also share limited and private access to the project with family and friends.
What are Quality Inclusions?
We build every home with over 100 standard inclusions that are often considered as upgrades through other builders. Each of our floor plans and products may be customized to meet the taste and budget of each homeowner. All our homes are built beyond code compliance and with a high energy rating. Do you offer tear-down and rebuilds?
Yes! We have completed many tear down and rebuilds throughout the Twin Cities Metro.
Warranty
What warranty will come with my new Home?
Many builders offer a limited Minnesota State warranty. We promise to go above and beyond – we not only offer the basic 1 year workmanship, 2 year mechanical system and 10 year structural State warranty, but also offer multiple opportunities throughout your first year of occupancy for walkthroughs to discuss any questions or concerns you have about your new Home. We also provide warranty assurance backed by a 3rd party. Reach out to us any time while you live in your home, we will be happy to help you through the warranty process.
