Let’s build your home

How the process works

A Proven Process. A Trusted Partner.

Our Build-On-Your-Lot program is backed by years of experience and a commitment to exceptional service. From planning through completion, Fieldstone Family Homes provides expert guidance and dependable support at every stage of your homebuilding journey.

Define your vision.

Decide where your new home will take shape. Already own land? We’ll help you evaluate it. Still searching? That’s perfectly fine—we can assist in finding the right homesite. Whether you’re just starting your search or narrowing down options, our team is here to guide you toward the best fit for your needs and lifestyle.

Select the home plan that fits your life.

Explore our home plans directly on our website, including galleries, virtual tours, and interactive floor plans that allow you to personalize your space. You’re also welcome to bring plans—we’re happy to build from those as well. Be sure to watch our customer story videos to hear firsthand experiences from homeowners who have built with us.

Get answers and clarity—early.

We’re here to answer your questions and provide upfront pricing on any of our home plans, or plans you already have. If meeting in person isn’t convenient, we’re happy to schedule a virtual appointment to walk through options and next steps.

Develop Your Budget

Once your home plan is selected, the next step is establishing a clear and realistic budget. We understand that every dollar matters. That’s why our experienced sales team works closely with you to align your vision with your budget—helping you make informed decisions while creating a home you truly love.

Your homebuilding budget includes three key components:

  • Land: The cost of the property where your home will be built
  • Home Construction: The cost to build your home from the ground up, including materials, labor, and selected features
  • Site Preparation: Expenses related to preparing your land for construction, such as lot clearing, excavation, utilities, wells, septic, and electrical service.

Our transparent approach ensures you understand each cost upfront, so you can move forward with confidence and clarity.

Sign a Contract

Once you’ve selected your home and know the price, it’s time to move forward by signing the contract. This step formalizes your plans and sets the foundation for the build ahead. You’ll review and approve your home’s drawings, then transition into the design phase to personalize your selections.  This is where the timelines begin.

Land Preparation

At this stage, we begin coordinating all aspects of the construction process. This includes establishing timelines, securing required permits, and preparing your land for building. With a clear plan in place, your home transitions smoothly from concept to construction.

Before building can begin, certain site and pre-construction requirements must be completed. Depending on the property, this may include land clearing or grading, soil testing, surveying, plot plans, and local approvals. Throughout this phase, your dedicated project manager will guide you through each step—providing clear information, setting expectations, and ensuring you understand the process from start to finish.
